In the last year alone, Uninet, known as the industry leader in Absolute Color™ toners, developed Color laser printer toners for 32 models including HP 5500, 4700, 4600 and 3700.
The latest R&D challenge for Uninet is to transfer developmental knowledge on how to solve problems in complicated cartridges like the HP 5500. Supplying Chemical toner, drums and chips alone is not enough. “We realize at Uninet that customers don’t just need complete products, but innovative technical solutions to face new color toner challenges,” said Uninet President Nestor Saporiti.
To make HP 5500 cartridges work, Uninet developed a “Chemical Coated Doctor Blade” – a crucial component on all HP color cartridges that with minimal adjustment, reduces background and color mix issues mistakenly cited as “problems” with the toner.
HP Color developer rollers that are damaged or not cleaned properly from the OEM toner wax build up create poor transfer and ultimately leaking issues. In addition, worn or defective OEM PCR rollers that create background and ghosting is a typical problem usually blamed to OPC drums or toner, but not true in this case.
Uninet R&D, developers and manufacturers of end felts, washers, foams and blades, in a recent survey learned that as many as 30% of empty cartridges might have a defective PCR roller, so the new “Chemical Coated Doctor Blade” was developed to support customers in this area. |
